Relationships can be confusing right? People to people relationships, B2B relationships, B2C, relationships, but a relationship useful to marketers are hierarchies. There are a few different categories of hierarchies:
- One to One
- One to many
- Many to many
Although many of these could be relevant to your business, brand or company, one to many gives to the most reliable data. Why do you ask? The other hierarchies either won’t provide enough data (one to one) or may provide you with too much data to the point where you may not be able to pinpoint what you need (many to many).
For example, if you have one website which sells 4 types of swimsuits it would be very easy to track your which product is performing better, this would be an example of one to many.
Another example could be a website like ali express with many vendors and each vendor sells a variety of products, almost anything you could think of, this is an example of many to many. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to grasps minute data like which swimsuit vendor is doing the best? Then, amongst these vendors which of their SKU’s is highest performing or mid-range performing?
Although relationships can be confusing, when you narrow down the right one for you, it ends up being a perfect fit.
