Consumers use their sense when it comes to purchasing and yes I’m talking about their brain but it’s so much more than that. Consumers need to see, feel, smell, taste etc.. depending on the product to make a connection.

In the sneaker industry with my team, we do a conversion driving tactic that revolves around the sense called ‘Try Ons’. A try on is where we curate an event around a consumer trying the shoe on, explaining the shoe to the consumer and then getting them to wear it for at least an hour. This could be through a run or work out.

During a ‘Try On’ event, almost always, consumers end up purchasing the shoe they’ve tried on. This is because we’ve used their senses to make a connection to the product. What do you do as a marketer to connect to consumers’ senses?
